The masks we wear
To hide what we feel
Like games of truth or dare
They damage more than heal

If only we were mirrors
Reflecting pictures pure and clean
And practice what we preach
And say what we mean

But mirrors when they break
leave pieces scattered around
They would cause a lot of pain
And yet not make a sound

And yet, the masks let us hide ourselves while we observe.
Observe and catalogue and then change the mask again.
    For what was once seen
    Cannot be shown again
What if a crack shows through
    Showing our true selves?
    And the masks
    They hurt us
    And in their hurt
    They heal us!
Reading your work after so long is like getting in touch with myself again 🙂
