2016 is around the corner. Less than 24 hours away. The last time I felt the need to pay tribute to a year going by was 2 years back so you can Imagine how 2014 and most of 2015 went for me. But as I wrap up this year I am all charged up and restless and all that in a good way 🙂
This post is less of a tribute to 2015 but more of an ‘Ushering in a New year’ wishlist.
I have quite a few unfinished posts in my drafts (that I do plan to complete over the next one week ). There is a vision board that’s ready to be pinned on my desktop as soon as I transfer it from my head to something in 2D. There are these projects that I am neck deep in that are keeping me creatively engaged and do I love that or what.
But the best part of being a day away from 2016 are all the possibilites that await me . Not work wise and not ‘just’ on the personal front but plans plans I have to make the next year about ME.
And here’s how…
The Reading Challenge 2016:
2015 was a sorry year when it came to reading [ as was the case with most of my interests] with barely 5 – 6 books that I picked up & other than Arushi by Avirook Sen there’s none that I am proud of quoting here. In 2016 , I do plan to change that. I came across the Outdo yourself Reading Challenge by Corriene through Richa. I am aiming for 15+ [ I am on fire!] with two book reviews in hand to kick start this journey this is one resolution that seems like a promising bet.
The DailyChatter :
Okay this one’s going to be tough. But , no harm in trying and trying like I mean business. December 2015 was a particularly good year for me with respect to flexing those rusty muscles and getting down to writing more frequently. Thanks to @blogchatter and the #DailyChatter challenge of a post-a-day that I picked up [ and understandably couldn’t complete] , I still managed a worthwhile count . The experience of a test run has coaxed me now to take up the #DailyChatter being hosted by @rads as a month long Blog-a-thon.
The YearOfMe :
A personal project [ Dont we love them?] – this one would mean building a strong #DigitalIdentity through 2016. I am going to break it into activities in another post but here’s what the Project would aim to achieve.
- A Strong interactive reader base for my blog ; Traffic , subscribers , comments and engaged community .
- A stronger presence on Linkedin : Professional platform for knowledge sharing .
- Maximise Social media to learn and build myself as a blogger. Blogging communities are a start but there is so much to learn and try.
- Create my own website . This would mean disprorotionate content and engagement avenues to be created and sustained. Huge commitment.
By the side , would also be be taking up some creatively satisfying projects like #ChallengerSeries promotions or #SportsChatter Creative execution etc.
PS : If you need help with something for your blog – you know whom to reach now right?
So that’s about it for now. Hopefully the #VisionBoard2016 would be done by Jan1st which would encapsulate my Goals for next year just the way I like them : in bright happy visuals and stunning quotes 🙂
Till then it is , Goodbye 2015. You’ve been a good learning board and now I am ready for the huge leap that’s going to be 2016.
This post was written before I read the fabulous as ever post by Aditi , co-host for this week’s #BlogChatter weekly prompt. I Love the idea of ‘words’ . so another post follows ! Do read hers and wish her the very best to meet her Next year goals with ‘Focus’!
This post was written for the #weeklyprompt thrown by @blogchatter , a twitter community that connects at 08:30 PM every Wednesday to talk about blogging and more.
The prompt was thrown by @kaushiva and @Kalaravi16 [ Have linked their posts – do read them] Here’s hoping they along with the fabulous beyond words @richa_singh , everyone else I have had the privilege to connect with via @BlogChatter and you dear reader -have a fulfilling and satisfying 2016.
