12th Oct was an ordinary day. As ordinary as it can get. Back from our trip away there was the usual unpacking, laundry , cleaning etc .
There was more ordinary , everyday stuff through the day and honestly I wasnt too sure if a #100HappyDay moment that I havent already blogged about was going to happen.
And then this video happened.
I have seen heart wrenching stuff and I’ve seen poignant and real stuff. But I dont think anything moved me the way THIS did. To ask again is such a simple gesture. But it can be priceless [life saving even] for a person who seems completely fine at the surface and is falling apart inside. We live in a strange , irrational , competitive , really really difficult world . We set high standards for ourselves and then we are judged on everything. The way we dress , we look , we fare in our exams or even in a dinner table conversation. There are days that are quite ordinary but a lot of us pull ourselves together and essentially get through it coz that needs to be done. And then there are string of these days and you cant just call it sadness, it’s something more toxic. That’s when you need someone to ask you like they mean it and you want them to ask again & again till you finally open up and vent out , reach out , seek help.
I wish people start asking and I wish people start opening up about the issues that are making them weak inside. I have felt really really strongly about Mental Health . And starting this moment , I resolve to really work in this direction to the best of my abilities.
The ordinary days sometimes bring with them the most amazing insights , the most amazing discoveries and the most heartfelt resolves.
When was the last time you had such an ordinary day that became a little extraordinary ?
Linking my Day12 #DailyChatter post here as I take my blog to the next level with #BlogChatter and #UBC all through October. I am also onboard with Shinjini on #TheMindfulBreak for the rest of the October. Are you?
