Yesterday at 6pm , almost when the day officially ends most working parents on a Sunday , my husband realized he needs new clothes.
Now that doesn’t happen often with him. He is someone who always feels he has more than enough clothes [Yes , he’s delusional] . For me , on the other hand , inspite of more than a couple of closets full [in not one but two different homes ] , that crazy thought has never ever crossed my mind [Yes , I have a shopping problem].
But mauka bhi tha dastoor bhi. My husband’s sudden shopping inclination being former and latter being approaching festivals [ esp the one in which I would officially diet in the name of husband’s long life Shh.. a confession .. karva chauth is a total win – win].
So we literally sprinted to the nearest mall and ran up and down , in and out of showrooms – not a single purchase made and a new resolve in mind two hours later. My husband’s waiting for the sale season to begin and I am going to lose those extra kilos [ and they are quite a few of them] to finally start fitting into my many many not-so-old clothes.
We further discussed at length and etched out the finer details of this plan over some amazing Irani grub at Sodabottleopenerwala . The place was such a joy – eccentric , mad and super fun. The happy hormones kicked in and my heart yesterday literally went Hmmmm.
I know kick starting health regime over a cheese pav/ keema pav and masala chai isnt normal but who said we are a normal couple?
When was the last time your heart went hmmm?
