Re-reading your favorite book a billionth time
Or fitting into the good old jeans some years down the line
Memories captured in worn-out photographs
no Facebook album can replace
The promise of all-girls-reunion,
every year , same time , same place.
The bond you share with that special someone
When the older you grow the fonder they become
When an elegant composure takes over
the young bohemian spirit
And the gramophone record brings alive
old melodies so vivid
Relationships, beauty, songs, books and memories,
Get better like old wine , as time flies.
Magic isn’t commonplace they say
But in a nostalgic moment, two worlds can combine
like a malfunctioning time machine
the past you and the present you entwine .

That’s a lovely one. Nostalgia is indeed a time machine and one that makes me smile and long of the days gone by.
Lovely poem! Would love to read more like this!
That was beautiful. Love that idea of a ‘malfunctioning time machine’ that allows you to get together with your past self.
Thank you for this poetic walk through nostalgia, Chandri.

beautiful poem. like you said as time flies nostalgia just grows.
Beautiful poem. Loved the way you have written and what you have written. Its true social media can not replace the pleasure of seeing old photos and meeting people in real
Reminded me of one of my favorite songs during my college days – Purani jeans aur guitar…
Perfect nostalgia poem 🙂
I love this piece and the way that nostalgia can be a time machine by merging the past and present 🙂
I love that last paragraph, Chandni. So captures what nostalgia is!
You have captured the essence of nostalgia so beautifully in this poem
